The Urban Prosperity Fund primarily deals with issues that affect the African-American population in and around the Greater New Haven area. Its main focus is on issues that prevent African-Americans from participating and contributing as equal members of the society.

To achieve this goal, Urban Prosperity Fund:

 

  • Hosts periodic community forums to raise awareness in the community about various issues.
  • Supports non-profit organizations that work to enhance the lives of African-Americans in the region. The main focus areas of these grants are:
    • Voter registration/participation
    • Civic engagement
    • Youth development
    • Involving parents in education of African-American children
    • Health
    • Finance
    • Philanthropy

The Urban Prosperity Fund helps in building a stronger community that has ample resources and information that enables them to achieve their dreams and have a better life.
